Natural vs Synthetic

Natural vitamins are derived directly from food sources—fruits, vegetables, grains, etc.—and typically come with additional cofactors and bioactive compounds that may enhance their absorption and overall effectiveness.

In contrast, synthetic vitamins are manufactured in a lab, and while their chemical structure is often designed to mimic that of the natural vitamin, this can sometimes affect their bioavailability. The body cannot recognize and process them, and often without knowing it, only a small part of them is absorbed.

Overall, many consumers prefer natural vitamins for their holistic profile and enhanced synergy with other nutrients, while synthetic vitamins offer a cost-effective and standardized alternative.

Not all vitamins are the same!

Natural vitamins are made from many different components such as enzymes, co-enzymes, transporters and synergistic factors, which combine and work together to achieve the desired biological effect.

Synthetic vitamins, which are chemically similar to natural vitamins but do not have the same effect as natural vitamins, are largely available in shops. Therefore, synthetic vitamins do not behave in our body in the same way as natural ones.

Take vitamin C, for example. The synthetic vitamin contains only ascorbic acid, while the natural one contains, in addition to ascorbic acid, vitamin P, factor J, factor K, tyrosinase, rutin, bioflavonoids and anthocyanins. When we take a synthetic vitamin our body will need to get the rest of the elements from elsewhere(from collagen tissue) to make up the whole vitamin C.
